Consider the Checkerboard problem while completing this question. You will submit this homework on Canvas. You can submit your work in the following ways:
1) You can type your response into a text entry.
2) You can write it on a piece of paper and take a picture to upload.
3) Create a google drive folder for your homework and create a google document to submit. I suggest you choose this method so that all your homework will be saved into a single spot. Teachers make errors in grading so you will have proof I made the mistake. Ensure that your document is shared to the teacher (firstname.lastname@example.org)
1. Suppose you have a square checkerboard of some other size – not 8-by- 8. How can you determine how many squares are on it altogether? For example, can you generalize
your method to find the number of squares in a checkerboard?
You can try a smaller version such as a 6x6 or go bigger and try a 12x12 to get a general strategy to solve this type of problem. Your goal is to be able to describe how to find the amount of squares in any checkerboard that is given to you such as 100x100 or 1000000x1000000. I am not asking for the number of squares but yet a procedure that can be used for any case.
